C190 Arc Task Force

#5YearsOfC190

Formed in March 2024, the C190 Arc Task Force aims to bridge labor and women’s rights to collectively shape and implement an arc of action for C190 during the period which will extend from Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in 2024 until the CSW69 in 2025 (Beijing 30+), with flash points which will allow for engagement to elevate and amplify the work on ILO Convention 190 (C190). The Task Force includes women leaders from 12 organizations from global north and south representing both labor and gender justice institutions including Global Labor Justice (GLJ), Solidarity Center, International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF), UNI Global Union, Worker Rights Consortium (WRC), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Bangladesh Center for Workers Solidarity (BCWS), Feminist Alliance for Rights (FAR), Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA), StreetNet International and United Domestic Workers of America (UDW). The Task Force is convened and coordinated by Global Labor Justice (GLJ).

The Task Force engages in coordinating and supporting events until CSW69 in 2025 (Beijing 30+). To this end, the Task Force has hosted a virtual convening to celebrate the fifth anniversary of C190 in June 2024 and a Round Table on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly with parliamentarians in September 2024. The Task Force will continue to support partners and allies in their actions during the Global 16 Days Campaign and work towards a high-level event with UN Member states and civil society leading to Beijing 30+.

Check out the recording of the virtual event “Celebrating Five Years of ILO Convention 190: Addressing Violence and Harassment in the World of Work” that the Task Force hosted on June 20, 2024 with speakers from the United Nations (UN), governments, media, Civil Society organizations (CSOs), and trade unions. More than 350 attendees from around the world joined the digital town hall and committed to working together over the next year and to integrating C190 principles and priorities into Beijing 30+ conversations.
